Multiemployer defined contribution plans, like the IAM National 401(k) Plan, must be administered by an equal number of union and employer representatives. These individuals are known as "trustees". They act on behalf of the plan’s participants to manage and administer the plan and make decisions regarding the plan's investment offerings.
